This basic broth is one of my feel-good recipes for cold days and/or mood swings. Based on ancient Chinese medicine it strengthens the immune system and the kidneys, and thus vitality.
We have a lot of South American influences in the Tenerife kitchen. This is how I came to know and use sweet potatoes... These delicious chips are one of my favourites and a lovely side dish for barbecues, Burger or just a salad.
Artichokes did not necessarily belong to my families favourites – especially the pickled artichokes from the can are no pleasure to eat at all for us. But since we started growing fresh artichokes in our garden, I began to experiment... and this recipe is just soooo delicious!
Another recipe inspired by Jamie Oliver – I changed it a bit to make it gluten free and less spicy thus more kids friendly:-)
Beetroot grows beautifully in my organic garden here in Tenerife... they are full of minerals and vitamins and especially good for persons with iron deficiency.
Unusual starter - rich in flavour and lovely in texture... Even kids love cauliflower, if it is presented this way.
This is a slightly different version of the classic pumpkin soup vamped up with apple and mustard to bring out the natural sweetness of the pumpkin.
I good friend opened a Pie Factory recently, which inspired me to invent my own vegetarian versions... This one is another family favourite - with caramelized onions and creamy goat cheese - yummy!!!
